SPAH 2010 may be over, but those who were there won't soon forget it. There were great jams and excellent shows and seminars by the likes of Al & Judy Smith, Brendan Power, Steve Baker, Clint Hoover, Dick Gardner, Susan Sauter, Jay Gaunt, Joe Filisko and Howard Levy to name just a (very) few.
If you missed it, or if you just can't wait for the next one, start planning for 2011 right now. Next year's SPAH will be in Virginia Beach, VA, from Aug 9-13 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center. It will be hosted by the Cardinal State Harmonica Club, who put on the annual Virginia Harmonica Fest.

Join us at Famous Daves' BBQ and Blues on 3001 Hennepin Avenue Minneapolis, Minnesota for the annual SPAH Harmonica Blow Off. The show will be hosted by Buzz Krantz, the Santa Claus of the Blues, and features Mike Fugazzi & Niterail as the house band.
This year's special guests include: Rob Paparozzi, Steve Baker, Brendan Power, Joe Filisko, Eric Noden, Chris Michalek, Jimi Lee, and R.J. Mischo.
The show begins at 8:00pm. Shuttle bus service from the hotel to Famouse Dave's will be provided by Eagle Wings Charters. Pick up times are 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Check with the organizers to find out about the return trip. |

The Seminar and Show schedule has been finalized. SPAH is offering its convention attendees an amazing array of talent and teaching. The seminars and shows are too numerous to list. As usual, the teachers are amazing. Highlights include:
- The Thursday night show features, Thiago Cerveira, Clint Hoover, Harmonica Junction and Andy Just,
- The Friday night show features, the Hermonicas, Bart Leczycki, the Hot Shots and Joe Filisko and & Eric Noden.
- The Saturday Night show and banquet features Susan Sauter, Dick Gardner, and Howard Levy.
- Daily open mics and nightly jam sessions for Jazz, Blues, and Bluegrass will be held throughout the hotel.
- the Filisko Teach-in
- Workshops and seminars covering a broad spectrum of topics be availble throughout the convention. The topics are too numerous to list.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at spah this year and making time to join us at the Jazz Club. There will be a top notch band of musicians who will be able to play almost any jazz standard. As a new twist this year, I am asking everyone who is attending the jazz club to email me your song suggestions.
I will compile all suggestions and bring them them to the spah jazz club on laminated sheets. Therefore, when we pick songs, we will choose songs from this list. Therefore it will increase the chances that one or more of the songs that you love will be performed and encourage you to join us.
