Alamo HOOT was started by Betty Welch in 2004, with a small group of harmonica enthusiasts under President Bob Boyd. Many others followed, leading to many successful years of promoting the harmonica in San Antonio, and hosting the 2016 SPAH Convention. In 2023, Justin Vasquez assumed the leadership role, and revitalized the organization. The group sponsors monthly electric jams, soon also acoustic jams, and continues to grow & expand in musical knowledge & performance.
