As Host Club for the 2025 SPAH Convention, Alamo HOOT has arranged two tours for your convenience and enjoyment. You will experience the ambiance and history of San Antonio. We hope you will sign up for one or both of these tours.
Tour #1 Thursday, Aug. 14 – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. $15.00 per person
River Boat Cruise
Your introduction to San Antonio will begin with a guided riverboat cruise of the downtown and the museum reach of the San Antonio River. Guides will share the unique history of Downtown and the San Antonio River. This cruise not only circles the downtown area but continues out the Museum Reach passing the San Antonio Museum of Art and The Pearl. Build on the ruins of the old Pearl Brewery, The Pearl has become a destination of activity on the edge of downtown. Housed here are restaurants, music venues, shops and markets.
Tour #2 Friday, Aug. 15 – 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. $60.00 per person (lunch not included)
Japanese Tea Garden & Witte Museum
The Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio, Texas is a historic garden with a waterfall, koi ponds, and stone pathways. Once a stone quarry and cement factory, it has been transformed into a serene setting of a Japanese Tea Garden. During WW II it was renamed the Chinese Tea Garden. In 1984, the original name was restored. The most recent renovation was in 2005.
The Witte Museum is a museum located in Brackenridge Park in San Antonio, Texas. It is dedicated to telling the stories of Texas, from prehistory to the present. The permanent collection features historic artifacts and photographs, Texas art, textiles, dinosaur bones, cave drawings, and Texas wildlife dioramas, in addition to nationally acclaimed traveling exhibits. Artwork in the collection includes sculpture by San Antonio-born Bonnie MacLeary.
Jingu House restaurant is available for lunch on you own at the Tea Garden. You can view menus at jinguhousesatx.com.
